井賀 孝

1970年7月21日和歌山市生まれ。写真家。

高校時代はアマチュア・ボクシングに没頭し、大学卒業後に独学で写真を始める。

27歳のときニューヨークで出会ったブラジリアン柔術を契機に“闘って撮る”写真家の道を志向。

その後、たび重ねてブラジルへ通うなかで多くの総合格闘家たちと交わり、2002年に『ブラジリアン バーリトゥード』(情報センター出版局)を上梓。

数年後、ふたたび自身の視座を日本に置くと同時に、各地の山を登るようになり、

2009年、日本人独自の山との向き合い方に惹かれるまま修験道の世界に身を投じる。

山伏として過ごした約3年間の日々を描いた、『山をはしる-1200日間山伏の旅』(亜紀書房)は各メディアで大きく取り上げられ、

2013年には世界遺産吉野の金峯山寺にて写真展を開催。

2014年『不二之山』(亜紀書房)、『すべての山を登れ。』(淡交社)を出版。

同年、國學院大学博物館 特別展「富士山-その景観と信仰・芸術-」に出展、好評を博す。

現在も大峯山などで山伏修行を続けながら、さまざまな媒体において格闘家やスポーツ選手、アーティスト等の撮影にあたる。

トライフォース柔術アカデミー池袋本部道場にて柔術の指導者としても活躍中。

Photographer. Born, July 21st 1970 in Wakayama-shi.

During high school he was immersed in amateur boxing until his graduation from university where he began to independently study photography.

At 27 he had the chance to travel to New York. At this time he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and from this began to think about being a photographer of fighting sports.

After that he had many chances to travel to Brazil where amongst ohter things he could mix with ohter martial artists, in turn publishing "Brazilian Vale Tudo" ( Joho Center Publishing ) in 2002.

A little while after this his thoughts returned to Japan and the challenge of climbing the country's various mountains.

In 2009 he became intrigued with the relationship Japanese people have with the mountains of the country.

He was also drawn to "Shugendou", or the art of Japanese mountain asceticism, a concept which incorporates Shintoism and Buddhism.

He then spent 3 years as a mountain priest, in turn publishing his experiences "Running through the heart of mountains in Japan" (akishobo) which was later discussed in various media outlets.

Throughout 2013 he held an exhibition of the his photos at Kinpusenji temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

In 2014, he published "Mt.Fuji" (akishobo) and "Climb Every Mountain" (tankosya). He also participated in an exhibition "Fujisan, sacred place and source of artistic inspiration" held in Kokugakuin University Museum and gained popularity.

He is a regular participant in various events for Yamabushi  in Ominesan and so on.

He continues to work as a photographer; working through various media outlets with sports persons, artists and fighters.

He also coaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Main Branch of the Triforce Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy which is headquartered in Ikebukuro.
